The Victorian Security Union (VicSU) is an Industrial Association dedicated to representing the interests of Security Workers within the Security Industry in Victoria, Australia. It was incorporated in September 2020 and commenced officially operating in November of the same year.
Our Mission
To be the voice of Security Workers both within the industry and within legislation. One thing that we believe has been missing for our industry is a strong, dedicated voice focused on representing the unique challenges of our industry. Together, with our own Union, we will have that ability.
Making our Union
Like all Unions, we’re a collection of our members. The association’s rules are around democratic elections and we are focused on our Members electing who will represent them within their workplace and ultimately operate the Union.
The Committee
All five of the Victorian Security Union’s founding Committee members hold current Victorian issued Security licenses and combined have over 60 years of experience working within the Security Industry.
Between the committee members we have direct experience across the industry, broadly covering the security industry in Victoria.
Importantly, we also have industry experience at almost every level, including as registered trainers and Operations.
You can find out who is on the committee on our contact page.
Current State of the Security Industry
Without a strong Union, willing to dedicate all of it’s resources into representing it’s members within the Security Industry, we believe the industry will continue with it’s “Race to the bottom” mentality.
It will be the Security Workers who pay that price.
We are making a strong Union, one that is willing to fight hard for it’s members and to represent their interests in the Security Industry.
Join us in making this Union a strong one
