The Victorian Security Union’s Terms of Service(s)
The Victorian Security Union Incorporated (VicSU) is an Industrial Association (The Association) which represents it’s Members in a variety of Industrial related matters including;
Disciplinary Representation; and
Fair Work Representation; and
Health and Safety/Worksafe Representation; and
General Industry Advocacy for it’s Members.
The advice that it provides is based on it’s experience and that of it’s Authorized Officers however does not constitute legal advice unless done so by an Authorized Legal Agent. As such all advice provided is at the Members choice and Members are advised to seek any counsel they see fit in addition to that provided by VicSU.
Where VicSU seeks legal advice it will inform the Member of any known risks to both itself and the Member by taking any legal actions. Where VicSU is satisfied that the burden of an action can be carried by itself, VicSU may opt to provide financial support towards a Members case but reserves the right to ensure any case is then managed appropriately. This may be done by seeking it’s own Counsel or after doing so, advising the Member which counsel or avenue is the best course for any action.
At all times, the Member has the final decision in any representational matter, legal or otherwise and is responsible for their undertakings both with and against VicSU’s advice.
The Victorian Security Union provides all services, products and fees in accordance with Australian (Federal) and Victorian (State) laws and will comply with all lawful instruction or directives under them. As such, VicSU reserves it’s right to hold itself legally separate to any actions of it’s members where those actions were not explicitly directed by VicSU and unlawful.
As a Member of VicSU, it remains your responsibility to conduct yourself in a lawful manner and to ensure the safety of both yourself and other Members of VicSU through the course of any actions under your control.
As a Member of VicSU, you agree to treat other Members of VicSU, it’s Workers and Associates fairly, without discrimination and without fear of bullying or harassment in line with the same relevant state and federal laws that apply to VicSU in it’s relation to you.
